Michael Riotto – Principal
With over twenty years experience in the industry, Michael has been a lighting designer and director in all aspects ranging from theatrical and entertainment to architectural and hospitality. He developed an involved approach to design when he served as lighting designer, technical director and production manager for various variety artists including Cirque Eloize, Les 7 doigts de la main, and Cirque du Soleil. Having been fortunate to collaborate with some of the industry’s leading talent and renowned experts, his current focus remains on collaborating with his colleagues at MRD on working towards successful projects that are unique, clever, on time, and on-budget. Through the prudent use of current technologies, repurposing of existing materials, and reducing the carbon footprint, Michael and the team from MRD remain committed to helping realize sensible projects that have a positive, yet beautiful, impact on society.




  Travis Walker – Manager, Projects and Logistics
Travis has been in the event and live production industry since 1996, touring, and working as everything from an electrician to production manager and technical supervisor. Travis brings to MRD a family background in logistics and his experiences as a former production company owner, serving the Off Broadway and NYC event market. Travis received his MFA in Technical Production for Theatre and Film, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.




  David Atkinson – Technical Director
David comes from a strong technical and artistic background, with experience working both as a theatrical designer and as a software engineer. His position at MRD makes use of these multiple skills, and he continues to learn since his joining the company in 2009. Previously he lived in Columbus Ohio, where he graduated from The Ohio State University with a BA in Theater, Magna Cum Laude. He is also an avid photographer and lover of the arts, so you just might run into him roaming the galleries at one of the many museums in NYC, or lugging his camera around central park.




  James Gaskill – Project Manager
James has been working with MRD since 2007 during which time he has managed MRD’s shipboard projects. Some of which include the revitalization of Royal Caribbean’s Splendour of the Seas, the take-out of Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas, the dimming revitalizations of Royal Caribbean’s Vision Class ships, and theatre re-hang and maintenance for the Celebrity Cruises Millennium Class to name a few. He is also an accomplished photographer, and has documented a number of MRD’s shipboard projects over the years. Prior to coming to work with MRD James worked as the house lighting designer and master electrician at the Robert Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. Where he lit shows for Arlo Guthrie, The 5 Browns, and Chris Botti among others. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Georgia, and is a Martin Lighting Certified Repair technician.




  Bethany Mansour – Office Manager
Bethany studied Business Management at University of Michigan and Accounting at Wayne State University. She’s had a varied career specializing in Design, Branding and the world of Architecture. Bethany is an avid traveler and volunteers with several NGO’s in her spare time.




  Bradley Clements – Assistant Lighting Designer
Brad received his BFA from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with a focus in Lighting Design in 2006. Since then he has enjoyed assisting on Broadway’s “Company” in 2006, and has worked as a Lighting Designer for several Off Broadway shows in NYC. Brad is an amateur photographer and website designer, and enjoys keeping African Cichlids.




  Seth Morgan – Shop Manager
Seth graduated from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy with a degree in Musical Theatre performance, but found his true love working in the Production Department at AMDA. He began working as an Off-Broadway electrician and carpenter, working with such companies as MCC, The Atlantic, New World Stages, and Roundabout among others. Following a two year stint on two separate national tours and another two years as Theatre Manager for The Women's Project, joined Michael Riotto Design in late summer of 2011. Seth spends his spare time writing songs and playing/singing them for willing and not-so-willing audiences all over greater New York City.
